You may have sighted in originally with the slower heavier bullet in Trace 1 because you were hunting in a wooded area, but now you plan on hunting in an open area where the faster lighter bullet is a better choice. Now here's where you can start to see the versatility of the program. The rifle is currently zeroed at 100 yards using the load in Trace 1, and you want to zero the flatter shooting load in Trace 2 at 150 yards.

The technique is exactly the same as before. Take the Sight Adj. value you want to change to and subtract the current Sight Adj. value from it. In this case take 3.684 and subtract 3.923. The result is -0.239 MOA. If your scope has 4 clicks per MOA you would need to turn the elevation knob 1 click in the down or - direction. To return to using the load in Trace 1 you would only need to turn the elevation knob 1 click in the up or + direction.

Knowing this you could swap loads as you move from wooded to open areas and back and always have the optimum load and zeroed range for the terrain. We've touched on just a few ways to use Ballistic Explorer and you can already see why you can never get this kind of specific information from static charts and tables. There are just too many variables.
